Rutgers/FIND - Before Midyear PPS
Fellowship Information & Networking Day (FIND) is usually held in September/October for candidates who are interested in seeking a fellowship at ASHP PPS. This is a great opportunity for you to meet with the fellows, program directors, and better understand the opportunities each unique company can offer you through a fellowship. It is highly recommended that you do your research on each program before attending FIND, so that you know which companies/individuals to seek out to make the most out of your time.
If you are unable to attend FIND at Rutgers University campus, you will have to attend a session during midyear to recap the event and provide you information on the program as a whole. While you can make it up during midyear, it is recommended to attend FIND so that you can maximize your time at Midyear.

RUTGERS - At Midyear PPS
The Rutgers fellowships are unique because they start earlier to interview candidates on Saturday by 12pm noon, due to the sheer volume of candidates seeking positions at these companies. If you are interviewing for Rutgers programs, please make it a point to fly in no later than Friday night so that you can attend interviews on time. Noon is the earliest you can 'request' an interview slot (compared to non-Rutgers programs where you can email to request a slot prior to Midyear).
Many candidates start lining up as early at 7 or 8am to get a place in line so that they can get their pick of interview slots. This is an advantage to those who are prepared because it is typically easier to move through rounds (especially as qualified) candidates earlier on in the process.
If you did not attend FIND, you will have to schedule a informational session, before you can start interviewing. This is why it is recommended to attend the information session at FIND earlier during the Fall semester.
Company-only Reception during ASHP - Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night
Each company will typically host a private reception in which they invite their top candidates. This is a great opportunity to talk to the fellows and mainly the PRECEPTORS for your program.
While you do want to show your interest for the program, try to connect with individuals based on interests outside the workplace. If you are not sure of how to do this, check out the "FORD technique", where you can talk about 1) Family 2)Occupation 2)Recreations 4) Dreams
This is the first and best place to make a strong impression - make the most of it.
Main Rutgers Reception during ASHP - Tuesday night
Rutgers typically hosts their main reception on Tuesday night (similar to other programs) in which they invite all their candidates. This is a great opportunity for you to close the deal and leave a good impression with the fellows, but mainly the preceptors for the programs you are interested in.
